WebJul 6, 2024 · Birdwood Downs is a lovely oasis after the Gibb River Road. The Savannah huts are basic but designed to be airy and each hut has a lovely shady garden around it. The nights are alive with sounds - lizards, peacocks, geckos - and the dawn is a cacophony of raucous birds. The horse ride is peaceful - sandy tracks around huge, ancient boab trees.
